Evidence & editorial standards
Our findings should be traceable, challengeable and open to correction.
Sources and uncertainty
Material factual claims need source references. We distinguish original evidence, contextual sources, interpretation and personal predictions. Unknown, unverified, disputed and retracted claims must be labelled. A source link does not by itself establish a claim.
Maps and dates
Event dates differ from source publication and first-recorded dates. Locations must identify whether they are exact, approximate, regional or global. A publisher’s office is not necessarily the location of an event.
Scores and demonstrations
The Civilisation Outlook remains calibrating until its methodology and data have been validated. Demonstration records and synthetic values are interface examples, not measurements of current global conditions.
Corrections and predictions
Report errors with the page URL and supporting evidence. Material published corrections should identify what changed, why and when. Attributed predictions should retain their original wording and date, with later assessments recorded separately.
Independence and submissions
Contributions do not buy editorial influence. Public submissions require source and publication-rights review, with privacy and safety checks. Investigable hypotheses must be distinguished from unsupported speculation.
